Summary
The rebate is based on the manufacturer’s (DC) power output rating of the modules. The amount is $4.00 per Watt with a cap of $20,000 for residential photovoltaic systems.
Due to the large volume of rebate applications already received, the $5 million appropriation for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 has been allocated. Florida will continue to accept applications for the next fiscal year. If you apply for the rebate program and your application is approved, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list. If the program receives funding for Fiscal Year 2009-2010, your application will be granted funding based on the order it was received and approved.
Basically, the program is massively popular so you should install soon or risk missing the free $20,000 rebate. Also, contact your Florida state representatives and urge them to extend the Solar rebate program (www.Congress.org – type in your zip code and send a message to your reps.)
